Hans Stretz first won the title of German middleweight champion in 1949. And he fought his way through to the title again in 1952 and 1956. Stretz was the pride of Erlangen, because that\u2019s where he was born. And thus it\u2019s no wonder that an orchestra in his hometown serenaded him in honor of his achievements.<\/p>\n<p>It was Gossen\u2019s company orchestra. A company with its own orchestra? That\u2019s how it was back then. At the end of the 1950s, more than 2000 people were employed by Gossen. 40 of them played in the orchestra. Whenever they weren\u2019t making music, they produced exposure meters, for example.
